Silo’s is a contemporary restaurant set in a former brewery in Boortmeerbeek. The owner needed a weatherproof awning solution that would complement the building’s industrial character and keep the late-afternoon sun from flooding the dining space.
In 2016 we installed three scissor arm awnings, each 14 metres wide with a 6-metre projection and covering more than 250 m² of terrace. Three years on, the owner returned to extend the same system across the brewery’s north façade. Two additional scissor arm awnings of 15 × 5 metres were added in 2019.
The branded dark valance runs the full width of the façade, consistent with the industrial character of the building. The integrated electrical Vario Valance keeps the sun from the windows. The large span and deep projection keep the terrace usable in all weather conditions, sun and rain included.
